Generally, vented decorative gas logs, for example, would be able to use these items to accessorize the log set that came with your burner. Note that vented gas appliances do generally cause soot and these light-colored ceramic pieces will become stained easily. Gas log spray cleans them up pretty nicely if this occurs.
We often use these to items change the look of electric fires.
